Sparks’ Smokin’ Selections is currently a one person crew, Misty Sparks born and raised in Texas, has an artistic background, and an intense passion for keeping Texas flavor alive wherever they go.

Misty Sparks is the star of the show, lead cook, and mastermind of all recipes. Before diving deeper into her passion for barbecue, Misty moved to Philadelphia in 1997, and worked for 27 years in homeless services where she was a fierce advocate, recognized at multiple levels across the city for her work and passion for the work, but, that’s not where the extent of her history with advocating ends, Misty is also a passionate member of SisterSpace, an active member within the LGBTQIA community, and can also be found gardening and advocating for better conservation efforts, leading a very eco friendly life.

With these foundations in life, and an intense love for Texas style barbecue, Misty has transformed from a participant in small cooking events, to hosting pop ups events and pricing down private events while leading her team every step of the way, creating menus, recipes, and other branding ventures. Sparks’ Smokin’ Selections is a brand built on hard work, and exceptional execution.
